Great Ideas: 2016!

Colorado Lake

Delovely times in Colorado Springs at the magnificent Broadmoor where I got to hang out with many old friends and make a heck of a lot more. It made for good recruiting for ASAE’s Communication Section Council, too, since we will have eight openings this year. I met quite a few association communication professionals and I hope they apply for CSC!

First, of course, I hung out with my friend and colleague Addy Kujawa.

A Man and a Woman at a Conference

Addy Kujawa and Yours Truly. We presented together on “Personal Brand Storytelling” – more or less teaching a packed room how to be remembered.

If you are looking for our presentation on Personal Branding, it’s right here.

I also got to spend some time with the Professional Development Council showing off my tragic bowling skills!

A theme of the conference was failure, as in “don’t be afraid to fail because failure is a building block of success.” It was great to hear so many inspirational stories. I also took an amazing session about bias and which I wrote about here. The session presenter shared a great video about bias and how we can’t control our first reaction but we can control our second.

As usual, Great Idea went way too fast!
